This is no different in the world of food and eating. Struggle and the next fad diet are obviously not the answers. If you are committed to wanting to make the changes to enjoy your connection more with your body and your health, join this intimate course and dive into a world where anything is possible when you get the support and care you need. In this small group course we will explore our stuck places, our edges, and grow and learn in new and precious ways. Together, we will discover the needs that are keeping you from the health and well-being you long for. If you have been struggling with this issue of body weight and you are ready to begin looking at food and your body in a whole new way, please join us on this journey of transformation and renewal. No prior NVC required, though listening to Eat by Choice, Not by Habit or reading Nonviolent Communication, A Language of Life, is strongly recommended. The structure of this class will include time for empathy, instruction, exercises and sharing new experiences and insights.
Session #1: Current reality with your needs around food and desired outcome plus a deeper look at support. What it means for you and specific strategies you'd like to use to meet those needs. Session #2: Getting to the heart of the struggle. What's really eating you? What's beneath the pain when food becomes a co-conspirator rather than a loving friend? Session #3: Body and Food Awareness. With nutrition information constantly changing and new diet ideas overwhelming, what is the current understanding of what is healthful? Session #4: A deeper look at current habits - stepping out of our comfort zones to a world of new possibilities. Conscious eating. Food as medicine. Session #5: Transforming your internal beat-up by changing the conversations you have with yourself. Compassionate self-talk. Session #6: Visualization: If all of my needs were met connected to food and body, how would it look and feel - what needs are especially standing out? Separating out needs from strategies. Session #7: What is changing and what is still wanting attention? What questions are you wanting answered to have a sense of completion before the class is complete? Session #8: Finale - wrap up - Where to go from here? Buddies, continued support, celebrating insights, new understandings and next action steps.
