About Ingrid

Ingrid Bauer has been teaching and writing extensively about compassionate parenting since 1997. When she discovered NVC in 2000, she was thrilled to find a practice that supported her in her desire to live compassion and grow world peace from the roots by addressing how we raise and interact with children, and how we practice peace in creating communities that nourish and care for each individual. For this reason and as a mother of four children aged 2 to 24 years, she is dedicated to sharing NVC with parents and families, and much of her work addresses this arena.

Ingrid is a certified CNVC trainer and a graduate of the BayNVC Leadership Program. For the past four years, she has been leading the Parent Peer Leadership Program, part of the joint CNVC and BayNVC Peaceful Families, Peaceful World Project, initially created by Inbal Kashtan. She offers workshops, teleclasses, retreats, and family camps internationally, with a special focus on parenting, as well as leadership training. She also offers private counseling and parent coaching. Ingrid lives with her family on Saltspring Island on Canada’s west coast.
