
SYLVIA HASKVITZ, MA, RD, author of Eat by Choice, Not by Habit, is a registered dietitian since 1983 and certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication since 1989.
Sylvia combined her work as a dietitian and the Nonviolent Communication (NVC) process to help clients focus on their emotional needs and their bodies’ needs at the same time.
In Minneapolis Sylvia developed the nutrition component of Fairview Hospital’s first in-patient eating disorder program, and the Weight to Go program at the Northwest Racquet and Swim Club. She has served as a private nutrition consultant for corporate wellness programs and individuals on issues concerning cholesterol, weight loss, diabetes and nutrition education. She enjoys offering healthful cooking classes and tea/breakfast & empathy.

We all have needs to grieve and mourn losses and changes.
Whether it is a death, change of job, change in relationship or any other change in our life, issues of grieving surface. In our culture, however, we have difficulty receiving others’ grief without thinking we need to do something to take it away or make it better. In this recording, Sylvia addresses the different layers of grief and interacts with others sharing their grief using the NVC process.
